Ryan Williams
Offensive Coordinator - 2nd Season

Coach Williams joins the Midland University football staff for the 2016 season to serve as the offensive coordinator under new head coach Jeff Jamrog. Williams comes to Midland after spending 11 seasons at Concordia University, St. Paul.

While at CU he worked as the offensive coordinator and was in charge of quarterback and receivers from 2005 to 2010 before being promoted to head coach in 2011. He guided the Golden Bears to a 19-35 record over the next five seasons.

Prior to his time at Concordia University, Williams coached three years at Wayzata (Minn.) High School and one year at the University of Wisconsin-Stout. At both schools he served as assistant coach and was in charge of quarterbacks and receivers.

Coach Williams attended North Dakota State University and earned bachelors in speech communications. He was also a member of the Bison football team and was a two-year starter at quarterback. After NDSU Williams played professionally for teams in the CFL and NIFL before joining the coaching ranks full time.

Mike Caputo
Assistant Coach - 2ndSeason

Coach Caputo comes to Midland University as part of Coach Jamrog’s inaugural Warrior coaching staff. He will serve as the offensive line coach beginning in 2016. Caputo comes to Midland after a successful playing career at the University of Nebraska.

While at Nebraska, Caputo went from being a redshirt walk-on to earning a scholarship along with the starting center position by his junior year. In his final two seasons in Lincoln he started all 27 games for the Huskers and was named to the All-Big Ten Second Team as a senior. In 2011 he was a finalist for the Burlsworth Trophy, an award given to the most outstanding collegiate football player who began their career as a walk-on.

After playing for the Huskers, he participated in NFL mini-camps with the Minnesota Vikings and New Orleans Saints in 2012 in hopes of earning a roster spot. Caputo ended up playing for the Omaha Nighthawks of the United Football League before receiving another invite from the Vikings in 2013.

In 2014, Coach Caputo was a graduate assistant for the University of Nebraska. He was a part of head coach Bo Pelini’s staff and worked with the offensive line with John Garrison.
